I mentioned earlier that almost everything you've heard about sex magick is probably wrong. In fact, to understand how sex magick actually works and what it's for, you basically have to rewire your thinking about it entirely.
I'm releasing a sex magick guide soon, and I want to be sure that expectations are in order. So, for now, I'm going to mention three key points in sex magick that anyone who wants to get involved with it should know prior to diving in. Here they are: 1) A lot of what goes on with sex magick is fantasy, daydream stuff in your imagination. It's primarily a magick of the imagination and, if you think about it, this is also true for sex itself. Most of it takes place in the mind, even though we place deserved emphasis on the body. 2) The sex magick that I teach has nothing to do with boring clichés like mixing bodily fluids in a chalice and drinking it, or chanting over a couple that's having sex. There's nothing boring in the sex magick I teach; it's not a reaction to sexual oppression or a way to challenge sexual inhibitions so much as a celebration of life and desire. 3) Sex magick is healing magick. You have to use it heal yourself first, and then move on to other things. The good news is, it's very powerful healing magick and you're already doing it to some extent, even if you don't know it. 4) Most of the sex magick that I teach is a solitary pursuit. It's not about orgies or hook-ups or exhibitionism. It's not against those things; it's just different from them. 5) Sex magick is extremely powerful. So, if you want to get involved, I'd suggest taking it slow and not getting in over your head. Time can be frustrating, particularly when you want to manifest things, but waiting is actually greatest friend. I'll have more to say as we move toward the release of the book / grimoire. I've had some inquiries about doing spellwork for people. Also, about summoning or invoking for people. And, in one case, about summoning a demon on video. So let me deal with these one by one in case they come up again: 1) I don't do spellwork for other people. There's a lot of reasons why. There are many people who will do this for you, but I won't recommend anyone by name. I'll say this though: nine out of ten people are just trying to steal your money. So, no I won't cast spells for you, but I'm happy to teach you magick and then you can cast your own spells. It's not as hard as you think and it's your right to do so as a living soul in the universe. And it's a lot more fun being self-reliant. 2) Summoning for dollars. Again: no. Also, you should seriously consider why you'd even consider this. If you want to summon a spirit to do "dirty work" but use some other magician to do it, just how stupid do you think spirits are? My advice is: summon your own spirits, but study up and be precise in your methods, or look out. 3) Summoning a demon on video. There are people who do this, but I think you'll be quite disappointed in the results. If you want to see a demon on video that fulfills your urges, I think you'd be better off watching a Disney movie. If you really want to see a demon up close, get a grimoire and try summoning one on your own. It's easy as fishing for eels. Last thoughts: whatever you do in magick starts and ends with you. That's why it's kinda silly to ask someone else to cast your spells or summon for you. No-one owns magick. It's everyone's and just because someone seems to know more about it than you do at the moment doesn't mean much. It's pretty much just an illusion. We all share a Universal Mind. I can help you get in touch with that, but I won't cast spells or summon for you just like I wouldn't try to live your life for you. There's nothing inherently wrong with people doing spellwork for others; but the best magick will always be your own. You can also send a direct donation through Paypal to [email protected] Thanks so much!!!!! Categories All The new moon in Cancer is an excellent time to begin the Ghost Flower ritual. This is particularly true if you're an artist or creative person. If you've been considering performing the ritual, now's a good time to dive in. Keep in mind that the pass-through option for the ritual will only be available for this final moon cycle, after which the ritual will be published in book form. So now's the time to grab all the info free of charge. I've had a few questions about the ritual, and I'll answer them now. Roughly in order of popularity. 1) What does the ritual do? The ritual puts you in touch with a nature spirit that has healing, teaching, and manifesting powers. This nature spirit is uniquely tied to you and is a "lower" emanation of your Holy Guardian Angel. You can use contact with your flower spirit as a basis for making full contact with your Holy Guardian Angel, or you can dialogue with your flower spirit to receive many magickal blessings such as knowledge, healing, and manifesting your desires. 2) Do I need to have a bell jar? No. You can use a glass jar or lid of any kind, so long as it big enough to cover your flower and transparent enough for moonlight to penetrate. 3) Will this work if I don't believe in magick? Yes. 4) Can I just pick a flower, dry it out, and burn it whenever I want? Why follow a moon cycle? Yes, you can do that. The reason to follow the moon cycle, or any other principle of magick is the same as following any other instruction, even a recipe. If you stray from the recipe, you'll still get something. But you might not like the taste! 5) Can I make a donation to the OTC? Yep. You can send a donation directly by sending an email to the OTC through the link below. You'll receive a lightning quick reply. You can also use the second button below to help out in a unique way. Thanks so much for your support!!! 6) If I'm a magus in the OTC can I teach the Ghost Flower ritual now? Yes. But I ask that you give your students the option of joining the Order. So far, these are the only real questions I've had that aren't too technical in nature. If you want to know more or just talk to me more about magick, consider joining the Order of the Crow. We like new members and treat them like royalty!!! Categories All Over the next couple of months, the Order of the Crow is going to expand in some interesting ways. Here's what's planned: 1) The Order will be open to anyone who wants to study magick regardless of their current level of knowledge. This means that the Order will no longer be solely focused on teaching the Ghost Flower ritual. Instead, the Order will welcome those who are just beginning a study of magick and who may or may not be focused on performing the Ghost Flower Ritual. 2) Starting in August, the "pass through" option for the Ghost Flower ritual will no longer be available to non-members. Only OTC members will retain access to the online ritual guide. 3) Starting in July, I'll begin teaching the Ladder of Love manifesting ritual to any OTC members who are interested in learning it. Members will receive a free pdf copy of the ritual and my active guidance (if needed) in learning this fascinating and powerful tool for manifestation. 4) Starting in August I'll be asking those who've attained the rank of Magus in the OTC to begin teaching the Ghost Flower ritual to others. This will leave me more time for teaching other things. At some point, the OTC will have a member chat, page, and etc... So watch for quickly moving events and ... further acts of magick! My hearty congratulations to everyone who succeeded in performing the ritual over the past few months!!! For those who "failed" in completing the ritual or for whom the ritual was a dud, remember I failed on my first try. And Yeats supposedly never made it work. There are good reasons the ritual is still left for you to do. Trust your magick. Categories All There's pleasure in smelling a flower. There's pleasure in touching a flower. There's pleasure in saying a flower's name. Some may even feel pleasure in eating a flower, or ripping it off the stem and shredding it to pieces.
Maybe you'd rather pluck a flower and toss it in a stream. Or press it between pages of a book. Or put it in your hair. Or maybe you don't like flowers at all. They make you sneeze. You hate nature because it's full of bugs and dirt and who cares about worthless things that grow out of the ground anyway? Or maybe you think flowers are for funerals. Or only for old ladies. Or maybe you think flowers are just products of chemistry, biology, and natural evolution and only seem pretty or interesting to us chimp-descended primates because we're hard-wired to cultivate things from the earth because we need to do so to survive. Whatever you think and feel about flowers, whether you like them hate them, sell them, smell them, draw them, sing about them, write poems about them, or use them to do magic, your life is intricately bound to them. Don't believe me? Imagine the world with no flowers. Nothing made from them. Nothing inspired by them. No. Flowers. At. All. Not even plastic ones. For those of you who need a scorecard, this also takes away virtually all of your drugs, much of your alcohol, and a good chunk of what you like to eat, or at least of what you eat likes to eat. The good news is, you'll still have guns and money and flags and stuff -- as long as the gun model, currency, or flag isn't based somehow on something about flowers. So for those of you with Hobbesian or nihilistic views of the world, the loss of flowers might not mean much so long as there's still a scrum left for your ego and pain. But what you won't realize is: it's missing the joy of touching, smelling, and being among flowers (ie -- blooming with life) that you're crying and killing about. For those of you who are still blooming -- it's a simple thing: the joy of flowers and growth and nature is the joy of being. When a man or woman gives you a flower or you discover a wild rose you feel joy. The joy of pure being. You'll have to come up with a reason to spit on the flower and cry. For a split-second you'll submit to pure joy, pure being. If you contemplate the Amaranth, or magick, or the starry sky, flowers of joy bloom inside of you. You can't stop them. Because that feeling, that spirit, is the source of All Flowers. And also the source of you. Creativity, fantasy, and desire are the heart and soul of magick and also art. This is because all arts are, at root, magickal, and all forms of magick are art. The desire to touch, feel, and even consume is the impetus for much of human behavior. Ironically enough, deep physical desires usually begin with and culminate in fantasy.
So, we see a sexy picture and we start to daydream. We cross paths with a sexy someone and we start to dream what it would be like to touch them naked. If we follow through on this desire, fantasies persist even during intimacy. There's an unbreakable bond between fantasy and all things sexual. If you drain out one element from the other, it's definitely a mood killer, worse than the lights coming on after last call. Movie stars, pop-stars, all forms of fame are driven by fantasy and, often, erotic fantasy. In fact, you're almost certain to spend the majority of your sexual experience in a state of fantasy and desire. Probably, you'll spend a great deal of time experiencing erotic energy alone. Especially these days. But that's not necessarily all bad news. Sex magick is something you can easily learn on your own. In fact, it's easier to do so. If you decide to explore its potentials, what you'll basically be doing is learning how to direct the erotic energy that can distract or intrude on your daily life and point it in productive healing and manifesting directions, all while indulging in guilt-free, physically safe sexual pleasure. If you're intrigued keep your eye on this space. I've got a lot more info coming. This post is intended for those of you who've completed the Ghost Flower Ritual, made contact with your flower spirit, and perhaps have even performed a bonding ceremony.
If you've made it that far on your own, you have probably learned a lot about magick and the nature of the will and how to direct your intent. You've probably also experienced a lot of things that have your imagination soaring, if not rocketing. That's the whole idea, after-all, or part of it anyway. It's possible that your experience of levity and Angelic power will make it a bit tougher to walk on pavement for a while. So I want to give you a couple of tips on how to handle the pure joy of being that your spirit will want to give to you. 1) Your flower spirit isn't an Angel. It's a daemon. As such, until you've performed the bonding ceremony, it's probably a good idea to use a license to depart when interacting with your flower spirit. This means that after you perform any kind of summoning, invocation, or evocation with your flower-spirit, you should banish your temple or work area and include a specific, spoken command to your flower spirit to depart so that you may continue your earthly pursuits. It's enough to say: "Spirit (name) depart now." But you decide what works best. Once you've bonded with your flower, you won't need to do this. Instead, if you start feeling overwhelmed or overly inspired, just provide a material basis for the spirit to tell you what it wants you to know. 2) Ego inflation is a serious risk of doing magick. All I can tell you is: it happens to everyone and it's a spell killer. If you start thinking you're important or special or powerful in any way, get ready for trouble because the objective reality of the universe is: we're all equal in the eyes of the Lord. So don't step on any rakes. But you will. I do it all the time. The best remedy for ego inflation is laughter. Joyful laughter. Magick's part of nature; it's natural to manifest your desires and for your neighbor to do so too. And lastly, the flower spirit is an almost-earthly emanation of your Holy Guardian Angel. So it has a lot to give you immediately. It's "low hanging fruit" so to speak, or rather, you are! So get picked by a spirit and feel good about it, but remember, there's lots of other fruit on the tree. There's a "suck it and see" aspect to magick that's very important. If you self-initiate as I did, "suck it and see" will be the primary focus of your early magickal experiences and experiments.
Even if you have a mentor or a teacher, you should revel in the discoveries of magick and the self-reliance of magick. But be warned, the purely solitary path is a much slower and more difficult path, and you should expect some setbacks, and delays. So, if you're currently using the pass-thru option to perform the Ghost Flower ritual, you're willfully walking into mysteries for which you'll likely find no immediate answer or resolution. You're brushing up against mountains that are brushing back, and it can be daunting at times. Your most formidable hurdle is boredom. You may think of so many reasons to not complete the ritual. Your second most formidable hurdle is fear because you must experience an ego-death to fully go through the ritual, just as anyone who uses psychedelics or goes through a period of intense growth and self-actualization. Also, you may not know or trust it when you've hit a mystery or its answer. Particularly if this is your first foray into magick. We're socially wired the other way from magic. But nature wired us to be magicians. This can get confusing out there on your own. Are there other dangers to "suck it and see?" About the same as if you decide you pick up a trumpet and teach yourself to play. You'll make some weird noises and bug your neighbors, while opening up your ears and heart to music. If you know a little about music and you dedicate yourself to what you're doing, you might get a three-note melody going in an hour. Maybe it takes a week. The most likely scenario is, you get bored with it and throw the trumpet in the corner. If you want to "master" the trumpet it's going to take a long time. You may or may not need a teacher. You may or may not need several teachers. You might want to learn to read music; you might not want to learn to read music. Magick's no different. Including sudden "leaps" in ability. If you keep practicing your trumpet, someday you'll make a sound on it that surprises you and that might lead you to your unique voice. Magick's the same. The Ghost Flower ritual is intended to link you to your magickal voice. So it's cool that you picked up the trumpet, but you should, at the very least, consider the traditional ways of holding it and blowing into it. For this particular ritual (now dropping the trumpet analogy) this means: 1) Make solid contact with Jophiel. 2) Make solid contact with the Four Archangels. 3) Be fearless. If you've made solid contact with Jophiel and the Archangels you can now "suck and see" with impunity. Up to a point. You'll know that point. So, what's solid contact? It's a matter of gnosis. It's liable to be expressed in the material world through shadows, moods, scents, musical sounds, feelings. If you light a candle and incense, you provide a material basis for an angelic response. But angels can use anything as a material basis. Again, you'll know. But it's no good to know and forget. That's why you should learn and perform the LBRP, or a banishing ritual of your own devising, as often as you can. I hope you all found (or were found by) incredible flowers this new moon. Now put your flower in a dark place. Cleanse and purify your ritual tools and yourself. Read up on whatever areas of magick are calling you. Wait to see the flower's shadow and receive its name. Don't write the name down. Hold it in your heart. Watch for signs. Prepare for the Burning on the full moon. Go without fear. Most likely, everything you've ever heard about sex magick is wrong. By wrong I mean, either willfully misrepresented, or ineptly distorted. It's virtually impossible to productively talk about magick without talking about sex and erotic energy, but you really have to wipe the slate clean, forget all the crap you've heard from whatever channels and use sexual energy to reclaim and re-energize your body, mind, and soul.
It's likely that somewhere along the line, your belief in magick has been "tarnished" or at the very least "darkened" by your experiences. When you wished on a star or a birthday candle as a kid, you had a special connection with imagination and will that, sadly, is given very little nurturing in later years. The same is true for sex and erotic energy. Just as many people have a "negative" initiation into magick, so many of us also have a traumatic initiation into sex and Eros. This is a big problem, not just because it victimizes innocent people, often children, but because it makes people feel ashamed or fearful of sex and erotic energy. Erotic energy is, by definition, life energy. It's not limited to sexual activity. It's part of anything creative or growth-centered. it's part of any act of healing. Many people are drawn to magick and particularly fascinated by the potential benefits of sex magick. They are, in fact, numerous. But it's impossible to fully or even productively access these potent energies until we've healed ourselves from our early trauma. This means more than moving beyond sexual abuse, overbearing religious oppression, or both. It involves reclaiming your will through a process of healing that's based in nature and in your own inner-capacities for healing. If you've been abused, hurt, victimized, or oppressed spiritually, you're not alone. Most of us have had these experiences. Many of us have found healing paths through nature and the spirit. You can do the same. And as unlikely as it may seem, this path of self-healing is sex magick. The most important kind. Start a self-healing path based on these ideas through one of the buttons below.
