There's a full moon tonight and if you can arrange some time alone, you can perform a powerful sex magick ritual. If you've ever done a ritual before you can do this one without any preparation, training, or tools.

If you're an old hand at rituals and spell casting, you'll still enjoy this simple act of magick

Here's all you do.

Find a place, indoors or outdoors, where moonlight and only moonlight strikes. Put out of all other light. No candles, no electric lights, no phones.

Once you've found a spot of moonlight, take off your clothes.

That's it.

Get naked in moonlight. Or as naked as you dare.

This is a dangerous spell and a powerful one. It's quite sexual and quite magickal.

If you cross the line and get naked in moonlight, you'll see what I mean. Reflect on how it made you feel and why. Pay attention to your dreams shortly afterward. Watch for signs and synchronicities. See what turns silver inside... and out!

If you're lonely or dissatisfied with your sex life, love relationships, or even friendships, sex magick is the right path to take to heal yourself and build a happy and productive life.

While it's not necessary to learn to literally cast spells with sex magick, it's a good idea to do so. But even if you scoff at the idea of practical magick and spellwork, you can still use the fundamentals of sex magick to improve your life.

The starting point for most sex magick is loneliness. This is often also the starting point for many things, such as creative works, online groups, and even business partnerships. Loneliness drives much of what we chase (and avoid) in our lives. 

Sex magick asks you to embrace loneliness and longing as positive, empowering experiences. I know that sounds crazy, but if you follow through on just a few basic steps, you'll see for yourself exactly what I mean and you'll come to treasure loneliness. 

This is especially true if your attraction and love spells start to work because you'll find yourself so busy (and in a  hurry) that you might even start to envy the lonely. Once you have lovers, friends, and maybe even kids, you'll too busy to be lonely. 

Of course a bit of loneliness persists no matter what. But the good thing is: you need it.

Loneliness drives you forward to new discoveries, new horizons, and new sources of empowerment.

So if loneliness or celibacy has you down right now, try thinking of this time as a period of "spellibacy" where you can begin to find and use manifesting powers in yourself, through sexual energy and fantasy, that you never even knew you had. 

​Once you're in touch with these energies, it's a lot easier to attract people, maintain relationships, and get the most out of your erotic life.

The first thing you need to know about sex magick is that it's a natural function. It's like breathing. You're doing it all the time. 

Here's a simple example. Think of the last erotic fantasy you had. Now think about what triggered it. Now consider how the fantasy made you feel. Then think about how you feel right now remembering the fantasy. Is the fantasy strong enough to make you stop what you're doing? Do you want to keep the fantasy or get it out of your system?

Any simple, sexual daydream is loaded with these kinds of questions, energies, and potentials. In fact, for many people, erotic fantasies tend to overwhelm their everyday thoughts and distract them from what they need to do. 

This isn't an accident.

Sexual fantasies and sexual daydreams are invitations into magick. They're signs of latent capabilities for creation, self-healing, sexual attraction, success, and love that belong to you. These are powers that you need and this is why they're trying to reach you through "intrusive' sexual fantasies. Your sexual dreams and desires have meaning that includes but also goes beyond physical gratification.

​There's nothing wrong with sensual gratification, in fact you need it, but if you read the second paragraph of this post again you'll see how much of the mind is involved in sex.

Getting to know your sexual imagination is fun, easy, and, in my opinion, much safer and healthier than not getting to know it.

The first step is to realize that the sexual fantasies that are running through your mind and filling your imagination are necessary and powerful. Just like very atom n your body holds E=MC2 worth of pure energy, every sex fantasy holds life-changing magickal power.

But for the most part, these things are no longer widely understood.

I mentioned earlier that almost everything you've heard about sex magick is probably wrong. In fact, to understand how sex magick actually works and what it's for, you basically have to rewire your thinking about it entirely.

I'm releasing a sex magick guide soon, and I want to be sure that expectations are in order. 

So, for now, I'm going to mention three key points in sex magick that anyone who wants to get involved with it should know prior to diving in.  Here they are:

1) A lot of what goes on with sex magick is fantasy, daydream stuff in your imagination. It's primarily a magick of the imagination and, if you think about it, this is also true for sex itself. Most of it takes place in the mind, even though we place deserved emphasis on the body. 

2) The sex magick that I teach has nothing to do with boring clichés like mixing bodily fluids in a chalice and drinking it, or chanting over a couple that's having sex. There's nothing boring in the sex magick I teach; it's not a reaction to sexual oppression or a way to challenge sexual inhibitions so much as a celebration of life and desire.

3) Sex magick is healing magick. You have to use it heal yourself first, and then move on to other things. The good news is, it's very powerful healing magick and you're already doing it to some extent, even if you don't know it.

4) Most of the sex magick that I teach is a solitary pursuit. It's not about orgies or hook-ups or exhibitionism. It's not against those things; it's just different from them.

5) Sex magick is extremely powerful. So, if you want to get involved, I'd suggest taking it slow and not getting in over your head. Time can be frustrating, particularly when you want to manifest things, but waiting is actually greatest friend.

Creativity, fantasy, and desire are the heart and soul of magick and also art. This is because all arts are, at root, magickal, and all forms of magick are art. The desire to touch, feel, and even consume is the impetus for much of human behavior. Ironically enough, deep physical desires usually begin with and culminate in fantasy.

So, we see a sexy picture and we start to daydream. We cross paths with a sexy someone and we start to dream what it would be like to touch them naked. 

If we follow through on this desire, fantasies persist even during intimacy. There's an unbreakable bond between fantasy and all things sexual. If you drain out one element from the other, it's definitely a mood killer, worse than the lights coming on after last call.

Movie stars, pop-stars, all forms of fame are driven by fantasy and, often, erotic fantasy.

In fact, you're almost certain to spend the majority of your sexual experience in a state of fantasy and desire. Probably, you'll spend a great deal of time experiencing erotic energy alone. Especially these days. But that's not necessarily all bad news.

Sex magick is something you can easily learn on your own. In fact, it's easier to do so. If you decide to explore its potentials, what you'll basically be doing is learning how to direct the erotic energy that can distract or intrude on your daily life and point it in productive healing and manifesting directions, all while indulging in guilt-free, physically safe sexual pleasure.

Most likely, everything you've ever heard about sex magick is wrong. By wrong I mean, either willfully misrepresented, or ineptly distorted. It's virtually impossible to productively talk about magick without talking about sex and erotic energy, but you really have to wipe the slate clean, forget all the crap you've heard from whatever channels and use sexual energy to reclaim and re-energize your body, mind, and soul. 

It's likely that somewhere along the line, your belief in magick has been "tarnished" or at the very least "darkened" by your experiences. When you wished on a  star or a birthday candle as a kid, you had a special connection with imagination and will that, sadly, is given very little nurturing in later years.

The same is true for sex and erotic energy. Just as many people have a "negative" initiation into magick, so many of us also have a traumatic initiation into sex and Eros. This is a big problem, not just because it victimizes innocent people, often children, but because it makes people feel ashamed or fearful of sex and erotic energy.

Erotic energy is, by definition, life energy. It's not limited to sexual activity. It's part of anything creative or growth-centered. it's part of any act of healing. 

Many people are drawn to magick and particularly fascinated by the potential benefits of sex magick. They are, in fact, numerous. But it's impossible to fully or even productively access these potent energies until we've healed ourselves from our early trauma. 

This means more than moving beyond sexual abuse, overbearing religious oppression, or both. It involves reclaiming your will through a process of healing that's based in nature and in your own inner-capacities for healing.

If you've been abused, hurt, victimized, or oppressed spiritually, you're not alone. Most of us have had these experiences. Many of us have found healing paths through nature and the spirit. You can do the same.

And as unlikely as it may seem, this path of self-healing is sex magick. The most important kind.
